A drive along the coast, all the way from Newport Beach to Marina del Rey awhile back, led me to the Korean Friendship Bell. If you haven’t driven the Palos Verdes Peninsula or through the harbor area at Long Beach over to San Pedro, you’ve missed a fascinating area. While the Queen Mary may be one of the more famous attractions, there’s plenty more to check out. Our very own Friendship Bell sits hilltop in San Pedro, overlooking a most gorgeous Pacific Ocean! If you have limited time, even just a walk around the monument and several deep breaths of that ocean air will refresh! You may want to check the website in advance, though, as it seems the bell is being restored at the moment. In the same area, you might also enjoy the Fort MacArthur museum. Neither Kat nor I have been there yet, but it’s on our to-do list for near future. ~SueBee
