Cotton Candy, aka Fairy Floss, is in the making at the Orange County Fair, and represents our entry into this week’s photo challenge, Texture. This photo offers up various textures, from the sugar granules scattered alongside the machine, to the soft, light, airy, fluffy stuff being spun to perfection. ~SueBee (photo by SueBee)
This week, share a texture found in an unexpected place. It could be made of natural materials, or with man-made objects. Click here for more examples of Texture.
Cotton Candy sidenote: it’s such a tidy snack, and one of my favorites as a kid, until one licks one’s fingers, turning them into a sticky mess. And, at just that moment, one’s hair blows into one’s face and one’s nose begins to itch.
I love cotton candy and all it evokes. Nice mix of textures. It comes pre-bagged so many places now that I forgot how mesmerizing it was to stand by the machine and watch them whip it up on a paper cone for you.
I was fascinated watching it! The adorable lady making it seemed thrilled I was watching her!!
There is nothing like real cotton candy at the fair – none of that stuff jammed in a plastic bag. 🙂
Agree! Fresh off the spinner 🙂
I remember as a kid watching cotton candy being made. It always seemed to just materialize out of thin air!
It’s fascinating to watch the machine!
