Yesterday after work was my turn to visit the Orange County Fair, my first time at this particular county fair. Lined up with countless other cars, and directed to parking in what I’m sure was the next county, I enjoyed a pleasant hike before arriving at the ticket booth. I still had some time to kill before my oldest daughter, Angelika, would be off work to join me, so of course I used that time taking pictures! I chose to focus on people, food, and a bit of this and that, and will split into separate posts. Let’s start today off with some people watching. Seems everywhere I turned someone was either wearing a stuffed donut on their head, or carrying a massive stuffed animal, either of which most likely cost an entire paycheck at the game booths! ~SueBee (photos by SueBee)

[…] My last article featured photos of People Watching at the Orange County Fair, while this one will focus on the vast array of Food offerings. Not having been to a county fair in years, I’d forgotten about this part of the experience. I felt overwhelmed while taking these pictures, but set my mind to showing you the variety available. I don’t know where the current bacon fad comes from, but nearly every food booth offered some sort of bacon – even bacon cotton candy (yuck). And, nearly every food booth was touting FRIED. I eat as little fried food as possible, and don’t really care for bacon, so perhaps you can appreciate my dismay at seeing bacon wrapped deep-fried pickles and turkey legs, a frozen banana wrapped in chocolate and coated with peanut butter and bacon, or a maple bacon deep-fried donut. The picture below proudly states the theme of Fair Food – UNHEALTHY! Maybe that’s the point of going to the Fair… living life on the edge, walking the wild side, live for today as there may not be a tomorrow. This next picture of the nurse holding the defibrillator paddles really says it all:I couldn’t decide how to share my photos with you, but finally broke them up into the galleries below. First, we’ll start with photos of some actual food in all its glory: […]

Great people watching!!!
Thanks so much! It was an interesting place for that!
I particularly liked the people sitting on bales of hay, just in front of the No Smoking sign.
Well placed sign !
