Birthday Trip to Catalina

I spent a most delightful day at the little town of Avalon on Catalina Island this past Tuesday, July 21st. It was my birthday, and I therefore enjoyed the benefit of free round-trip passage on the Catalina Express out of Long Beach, California. Kat joined me on the 8:30am trip, with my oldest daughter, Angelika, joining us in the afternoon. A highlight of our day was kayaking in the harbor. The weather was perfect, and the water so warm I nearly wanted to tip myself over and take a swim. A few photos, taken with our iPhones are included in this gallery. ~SueBee
