Visiting Abilene, part 2

The pictures included here continue from my previous post Visiting Abilene, part 1. I not only wandered through the Eisenhower President Museum (that will be a separate blog post), but also the little historical area. I even found another painted boot. As daylight was quickly coming to a close, I decided to take back roads on my return drive to Hutchinson. There’s nothing like being out in the country with wide open spaces. ~SueBee

You have so much room in America! The buildings with space all round them like the tenth image above always look a bit odd to me.

There is lots of room in many parts of America, for sure, especially in the middle, the great plains. As to #10, I wonder if there might have been another building attached to it that was torn down at one time or another. It does look rather lonely, doesn’t it, and like it could tip over.

It dose look a bit depressed so perhaps it is missing another building beside it. I hadn’t thought of that.
