I was in Wichita recently, doing a little exploring on a day when few people were out and about. I’ve found Sundays are a good day for driving around aimlessly as people tend to be at home, leaving the streets empty for me. Most of the pictures in this gallery were taken just to the east of where the Arkansas (pronounced R Kansas, not R Kansaw) and Little Arkansas rivers converge, the point where the Keeper of the Plains statue is located. ~SueBee
PS: Wichita, Kansas is a sister city to Orléans, France, and in 1973 gifted a Keeper of the Plains statue to the city or Orleans. Per my friend, Sophie, who was born in Orléans, “It was a gift from Kansas to Orléans in 1973 following the liberation of the City by troops from Kansas in the Second World War.” Orléans later gifted a Joan of Arc statue to Wichita, which I will seek out on my next visit.

Very good.
My only contact with Witchita is through the well known song about its lineman so it was good to see the real place.
It was a very good song.
