The month of March features our local Amish village’s Parade of Quilts. As March is quickly coming to a close I decided to visit yesterday, a cold and blustery day (in direct contrast to the upper 90s we had the day before). Several of the local shops hang the handmade quilts for display and sale. They’re truly works of art.
In hindsight I wish I’d taken more pictures of the quilts but the opportunity just didn’t work without feeling awkward. One additional bit of disappointment was spotting a huge field of Oreo cookie cows (Belted Galloways officially!) while driving on the highway, but I couldn’t find a road close enough to get a picture of them. ~SueBee
Note: the tractor and horse-drawn cart are the favored mode of transportation for the Yoder community.
