Solvang the Ostrich

I have such a complete sense of accomplishment with this one! I’d been pondering it in my head for weeks, trying to figure out how to do the legs and neck. I had the body (an old wooden kitchen implement) that I’d cut down, but had no idea what to do for the neck and legs, wanting something bendable and yet stable. I finally came across this creepy old doll that I ripped apart, used an arm for the neck, legs for the legs. The head is a cork I altered a bit, with a pistachio shell glued back together for the beak. Mom’s old feather duster became its feathers, vintage child-size spoons for the feet. ~SueBee
