Today’s Foto Fix is a much-needed respite from the crazy world we live in. This photo was taken just a few weeks ago at the Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens in San Marino, California. Peace and serenity to all. ~SueBee
My entry into the WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge: Curve is a selfie taken at the Los Angeles County Arboretum in Arcadia. The curve of the sculpture gives me a very unique look, don’t you think?! ~SueBee
Today’s Foto Fix was taken while walking along San Francisco Bay in the quaint town of Sausalito. The artist was performing a balancing act! Certainly reminded me of all the small, flat rocks I collected on the beach at Cambria, and have balancing in stacks of threes at my home. ~SueBee
Today’s Foto Fix was taken at the flower fields in Carlsbad, California. Gorgeous color to be seen in every direction! ~SueBee
Cable car doors, short doors, close-together doors, intricate doors, Asian-inspired doors, uphill-slant doors, religious doors, downstairs doors, brightly painted doors, optical illusion tree doors! I took these photos during my recent visit to the city on the bay, San Francisco. On this particular day, while my son, Andreas, was in a board meeting, his boyfriend, Loren, […]
WordPress asked us in this week’s Photo Challenge to feature a photo using Numbers as the theme. I chose this photo taken in the adorable town of Sausalito, on the other side of San Francisco’s famous Golden Gate Bridge. My son Andreas, his boyfriend Loren, and I visited San Francisco recently, and walked the entire span of […]
…and she escaped with not a moment to spare! This is my entry into the current week’s Photo Challenge: Spare. I managed to capture this photo yesterday at the Los Angeles County Arboretum. The male peacocks were vying for attention of the females, showing off their gorgeous finery. The females were disinterested, and trying their […]
Today’s Foto Fix was taken at San Simeon last year, during my vacation up California’s central coast. San Simeon is well-known as the home of Hearst Castle, a gorgeous estate high on the hill above the coast. This photo always seemed magical to me, and brings reminisces of stories mom and dad shared about the sailboat […]
The expression on their faces, and their interaction after this picture was taken, reminded me of the famous comedy duo. This picture was taken on one of Southern California’s piers. ~SueBee
For this week’s Photo Challenge: Face, I chose a picture of my oldest daughter, Angelika, that I took in 2013 at Santa Cruz’s Beach Boardwalk. We had so much fun visiting that gorgeous area, several hours up California’s coast, and this picture brings it all back. Angelika’s playful personality shining through as she’s imitating “Laughing Sal” makes me smile. […]
Today’s Foto Fix was taken while driving back from San Diego a month or so ago. ~SueBee
Today’s Foto Fix was taken yesterday at Oak Canyon Nature Center in Anaheim Hills, the next town over from where I live in Orange. Look in the center of the photo, along the path, and you’ll see the bird in flight. I was surprised to see this beautiful bird within such a heavily wooded area. ~SueBee
Today’s Foto Fix was taken near Carlsbad in Southern California, south of where I live in Orange. I was pleased to capture all seven birds as they sailed by in formation. ~SueBee
A delicious gathering of fresh, Southern California produce, with photos taken at the Long Beach Farmer’s Market recently. Hungry?! ~SueBee
Today’s Foto Fix was taken at Descanso Gardens and features fallen camellia blossoms someone laid out in a spiral. This photo seemed a good one for 2016 Earth Day! ~SueBee
Continuing my tour of San Francisco, these shots were taken from Fisherman’s Wharf as we made our way toward the Golden Gate Bridge. We were surprised to see people swimming in that very cold water. Wet suits or not it had to be really cold. ~SueBee
This is the first of several posts I’ll share over upcoming days featuring my recent weekend spent in the beautiful city of San Francisco. Today’s gallery starts off at Fisherman’s Wharf. The early morning was a bit overcast, but it quickly cleared and became the prettiest day I’ve ever seen up there! I definitely left […]
Can you identify the UFO (unknown flying object) in the upper right of this picture I took at San Francisco a few weeks ago? I didn’t notice the object until just now, as I gathered pictures for my next blog post, so I have no clue what it is. Since I was trying to focus on the […]
Today’s Foto Fix was taken at San Francisco while I was walking along Fisherman’s Wharf earlier this month. The sign seemed a bit of an understatement, considering there’s a battleship in the background. ~SueBee
