I had a wonderful lunch with my son who works at University of Southern California (USC) today. Once done, he went back to his office and I wandered off on a photo expedition (naturally!) of the gorgeous campus. Heading up the stairs to Doheny Memorial Library, I noticed a plaque affixed on either side. Just by chance, I glanced at the one on the right and realized what a coincidence it was that I first saw this particular plaque today, in spite of many previous visits to the campus, this being the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination.
Discussions of that horribly sad time have been on the radio for the past few days, but particularly today, with newscasters asking those of us old enough to remember “where we were” when the news first broke. I remember it well, having been in elementary school, and being upset not just by the news, but by seeing all the teachers crying. So, out of respect for JFK, I’m posting a second Daily Foto Fix today, this one in memory of a tragedy in our nation’s history. ~SueBee (photo by SueBee)
