Went camping in Big Bear with Cam and his wonderful family a little while back…what a fantastic trip, and an absolutely stunning place to camp! We stayed at Hanna Flats Campground, right in the middle of the forest…massive trees surrounding us, and tons of hiking trails to explore. I couldn’t help taking several pics of these humongous trees, especially when they were silhouetted against the vibrant sunsets.
During one of our hikes, we passed through the remains of a huge 2007 forest fire that knocked out hundreds of trees…it is so tragic to see all the empty space, and occasional blackened trees. The hike itself, however, was a breathtaking one…the hills surrounding us seemed to roll on forever…gorgeous!
This was truly a wonderful experience…sitting around the campfire, under the stars, with the beautiful trees surrounding us. I really can’t wait to re-visit this site! ~Kat (pics by Kat)
