(14 photos) My friends, Aranka and her husband George, whom I visited in Pahrump, Nevada, earlier this week took me on a fabulous tour of the local area. On Tuesday, our destination was Death Valley. Driving through some pretty unforgiving land, there suddenly stood the Amargosa Opera House! I linked to their website for those interested in learning more about this fascinating place. It seems the founder, Marta Becket, just recently passed away at the age of 92, although rooms are apparently still available to rent at the hotel. I would have loved seeing her opera show! ~SueBee
