Recently, taking advantage of a wonderful break from the storms we’ve had, I drove to Balboa Island and rode the ferry to the Balboa Peninsula. I wandered a few blocks and reached the sand. A really large berm had been built up by whichever government department is in charge of such things. I’m sure the intent was to protect the village from the storm and it seems to have worked. I decided not to try sliding down the sandy slope to the water’s edge, and instead walked along the pier. There were many things to observe and I had a great time out in the brisk air without being rained on! ~SueBee
