For this journal, I envisioned bright, cheerful colors and a real sense of being in the garden. My friend, Emma, works at an adorable gift boutique called Through the Garden Gate, so I adopted the name for my Junk Journal, and made a garden gate for the first page. Even before starting the book, I knew I wanted the little white picket fence as a closure on the outside. I wasn’t sure how it would turn out, but I’m happy to say, it works. I like to visit and photograph the beautiful botanic gardens in Southern California; the pictures used on pages, tags and cards throughout the book are ones I took. I love how the book brings me into the gardens! ~Susan (SueBee)
