I took a drive to Wichita a few days ago, just for a change of scenery. I’d been wanting a walk through the Great Plains Nature Center, but hesitated in the heat of summer. Since I’d gotten down there while still morning, though, I decided on walking one of the main trails. It was beautiful. When I got in my car after my walk and a visit inside the Nature Center, the thermometer showed 103 degrees F. I much prefer cooler temps! ~SueBee

You would need every bit of shade you could find in that temperature. Lovely picture.
It’s funny, the heat didn’t bother me too badly until nearing the end of my walk and realizing I was getting very thirsty. But, the heat really hit when I went inside the air conditioned visitor center. Then I started dripping!
Perhaps you were walking so briskly that you created your own cooling breeze.
