Photo taken along one of Southern California’s beautiful, sandy beaches. Quintessential summertime. ~SueBee
Newport Beach Pier at sunset is the setting for our Daily Foto Fix. I blurred the edges a bit, after testing out various effects. I rather like the result, do you? ~SueBee
A broken-open, dry seed pod I found interesting, along the path while hiking at Santiago Oaks Regional Park in Orange, ~SueBee
Daily Foto Fix of stepping stones over a small creek was taken at Santiago Oaks Regional Park, here in Southern California. Note to our followers who may have noticed the diminished number of posts and photos recently… all due to “life gets in the way” syndrome. My elderly mom (97, nearing 98) has had some […]
A very friendly brown pelican posing for the camera on Oceanside pier for our Daily Foto Fix. ~SueBee
This Daily Foto Fix was taken at Santiago Oaks Regional Park in Orange during a late afternoon hike recently, and as with several other photos I’ve taken, reminds me to my favorite poem by Robert Frost, The Road Not Taken. ~SueBee “…Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled […]
This dried seedpod, covered in sharp thorns, is ready to launch a seed on feathered wings. I took this shot during a recent walk at Santiago Oaks Regional Park in northern Orange County, Southern California. ~SueBee
Our Daily Foto Fix is a pink wildflower spotted in Santiago Oaks Regional Park in Orange County. ~SueBee
The former water line clearly visible in this photo of Irvine Lake, a privately owned fishing and boating lake near my home in the city of Orange, certainly shows results of Southern California’s drought. While I didn’t live in the area when the lake was at normal water levels, it’s sure sad to see how low […]
During stressful times, the remedy I often seek is a quick visit to the shore. When that’s not possible, gazing at a photo is the next best thing. This beautiful outlook onto the Pacific Ocean is from the end of Poppy Street in Corona Del Mar. Happy Wednesday, halfway to the weekend! ~SueBee
Today’s Foto Fix features a bit of gravity-defying magic demonstrated by two young gals on the beach at Oceanside, as they took a break from an international soccer tournament. The gal dressed in pink impressed me with her very cool, controlled skill! I’m sure I never looked that calm while hula-hooping. 😉 ~SueBee
Today’s Foto Fix was taken at the Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens recently. ~SueBee
I often find scenes that amuse me during my photography outings, this one taken at Corona Del Mar being one of them. The “Creature from the Black Lagoon” (reference to a 1954 very low-budget Action/Adventure film), has come ashore, and people on the beach haven’t even noticed! The dog doesn’t seem to sense the danger either! […]
Today’s Foto Fix reminder for some of us this weekend… it’s time to mow the lawn! Photo taken along the promenade, cliff side above the sea, at Corona Del Mar. ~SueBee
This scene at Corona Del Mar had me laughing. All the spikes and gadgets to keep pigeons off the roof of this very expensive, seaside home, and yet…. ! 😀 ~SueBee
This photo perplexes me nearly as much as the pond reflection from a few days ago. I took it Sunday afternoon while wandering along the beach at Corona Del Mar, after my family’s wonderful Mother’s Day festivities had concluded, using my Nikon long lens (55/300). I can’t figure how so many things can be going on in one small spot […]
Reflections fascinate me as much as shadows do. This one I find particularly tricky in determining if anything other than the stone and a few brown leaves are real, not reflected. I took this shot at Oak Canyon Nature Center in Anaheim Hills during a recent hike. More photos from that afternoon of exploring coming soon! ~SueBee
Today’s Foto Fix is from my visit to the Bowers Museum this past Sunday during their May Day celebration. The group of dancers from Czechoslovakia were performing a children’s folk dance. I did just a bit of photo editing, focusing the colors on the dance group while the rest turned black and white. ~SueBee
As I mentioned previously, the gardens are so beautiful at The Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens in San Marino, that I have a near-endless supply of photos from my recent visit! This gorgeous rose reminds me of sherbet (which I’ve pronounced as sherbert my entire life, by the way)… yummy! ~SueBee
