I’ve decided to recycle photos now and then… not that I don’t have enough new ones to wade through. But, when time is limited for selecting and editing, re-sharing seems a decent alternative. As to this particular shot, notice the dragonfly at the tip of a branch on the left! ~SueBee
Today’s Foto Fix is of a bashful blackeyed Susan, photographed at Descanso Gardens in La Canada Flintridge. ~SueBee
Happy Friday! Today’s Foto Fix was taken at Oak Glen and features a serene setting with which to end the workweek. ~SueBee
It’s been extremely hot in Southern California, up until yesterday, when the weather broke, and we had a 15 minute downpour of rain. The massive fires raging on the mountains above Burbank, Sunland and Tujunga (near Los Angeles) seem to have been brought partially under control. The firefighters say the rain helped a bit, but […]
(16 photos) Continuing from my previous post featuring the Palm Spring Aerial Tramway and top of the mountain… the cooler temperatures up top would be a welcome relief during our current high 90’s heat spell. ~SueBee
(11 photos) I drove up the San Bernardino mountains to Lake Gregory yesterday morning to fulfill one of my summertime goals of kayaking there. The drive took just a bit more than an hour, which is basically nothing in Southern California drive life. The weather on the mountain was gorgeous, the lake smooth, deep blue, […]
This week’s Photo Challenge asks for a picture of a corner. I chose this corner in the Grand Central Market in downtown Los Angeles. As told by the sign, it’s 100 years old, and a suitable corner for the challenge, in my view. I took the picture because of the year; it’s the one when […]
(14 photos) These pictures were taken a week ago when Kat and her husband, Cameron, asked me to join them on a hike in Palm Springs… not in the desert heat, but on the top of Mount San Jacinto. We took the Palm Spring Aerial Tramway for a spectacular 10 minute ride to the top, […]
(9 yummy photos) How about a slice of cake to start your day?! These are photos I took while visiting the Orange County Fair recently. If the goodies taste as good as they look, they’re all winners in my book. ~SueBee
I joined Kat and her new husband, Cameron, for what I’d personally call a very challenging hike this past Saturday. We took the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, and then hiked a fairly steep trail through a pine forest at high altitude. I pasted some information from the tram website below for those interested. If you’re […]
This seagull and I had quite the conversation during my recent visit to La Jolla near San Diego. He was insistent I tell him whether his left or right profile was more photogenic. Honestly, I couldn’t decide… my focus was on his adorable knobby knees and overlapping feet. 🙂 What do you think? ~SueBee
This gallery features a little tour of the Point Loma Lighthouse on the tip of the peninsula at San Diego. I imagine it was a lonely place way back in the day, but certainly not these days. It was quite the tourist hot spot while I was there. ~SueBee
I took this picture from near the lighthouse at Point Loma in San Diego. It was a gorgeous day with nice fluffy clouds off in the distance. ~SueBee
The sun moving closer to the horizon at day’s end lends the most gorgeous lighting that photographers dub the Golden Hour. It was a glorious one at La Jolla during my visit last Friday. ~SueBee
This picture of a very watchful seagull was taken at La Jolla, a beautiful spot on the coast, next to San Diego. ~SueBee
Today’s Foto Fix is one I took yesterday while visiting the city of San Diego for some kayaking and sightseeing. This picture was taken from the Cabrillo National Monument on the tip of the Point Loma peninsula. It was a spectacularly beautiful day and I have lots more pictures to share… coming up soon! ~SueBee
(11 photos) The County Fair has a reputation for crazy food, but it seems this year was even crazier than my last visit…the word food should be used lightly! Wandering around the food booths, I must admit not having had a clue what to buy for my dinner. I ended up with a corn dog on a […]
My choice for the Weekly Photo Challenge on the word Satisfaction was taken at the Orange County Fair. This entry, entered in the youth category, must have brought that girl or boy much satisfaction when seeing their gigantic lemon on display. It’s HUGE! ~SueBee
(19 photos) I’d never before seen pigs race, but I can now mark that off my bucket list! The Orange County Fair is the place to go if you want to have this experience – it’s a crowd pleaser for sure! ~SueBee
