I took a literal interpretation for this week’s photo challenge with a grouping I’m titling Art of Work. I watched these artists demonstrating their craft during the recent Los Angeles Times Book Fair held at USC (University of Southern California). I was both fascinated and envious. I spent many years as a working artist, designing intricate celtic patterns that I used on the custom Irish Dance dresses I created. After a decade as the sole support for myself and my three kids, working endless hours, I left that world for one of a steady paycheck, 40 hour workweek, and benefits. I traded creativity for a tedious office job in a dull environment. Hence, my feelings of envy watching these artists at work! ~SueBee (photos by SueBee)
