(3 photo galleries) My oldest daughter, Angelika, invited me along on a one-night getaway to the town of Temecula, in southwestern Riverside county, recently. The wineries surrounding Temecula were the true destination! Her boyfriend, along with his mom and uncle visiting from Germany, would be joining, as well. I arrived ahead of them, as it’s just an hour’s drive from northern Orange County where I live, and walked around the town, taking lots of photos to share with you. The town is very cute, with its cowboy, wild west theme. You’ll notice one of the restaurants has misters on their patio, adding some much needed humidity for their patrons.
The thermometer was nearing the 90s by mid morning, and in spite of the dry heat, I was dripping in no time. I wandered around in this adorable shop, The Farmers Wife, enjoying their air conditioning as well as their gift items.
Once Angelika and group arrived, we headed to Ponte Winery for lunch on their patio. Truly excellent food, and wine! Then off to their tasting room, followed by a visit to Weins Winery next door.
Sharing a taxi ride back to our hotel was a grand idea, indeed. Even better was the swimming pool awaiting us! ~SueBee (photos by SueBee)
Looks like a fun day with lots to explore. I would be found in the air conditioned shop.
It was definitely the place to be… well, also inside at the tasting room and in the swimming pool!
That looks like a well stocked shop.
Lots of goodies to enjoy! And, did I mention the air conditioning?!
