Southern California’s mountains are snow-covered and beautiful thanks to a Thanksgiving Day storm! Therefore, I drove to Oak Glen yesterday to get some pictures, oblivious to the thought that crowds might greet me. With the first snow of the season bringing lots of excitement, naturally every single resident of the area wants to experience it firsthand. Traffic getting to Oak Glen was mild, but once I was on the mountain, the road became bumper-to-bumper cars. People were pulling alongside the road in places that were virtually non-existent, where the snow was piled high by snow plows, and you can imagine the mess. Kids were squealing and running about, parents trying to corral them, but with little luck. I quickly decided that I would simply follow the miles-long train of cars and make my way back off the mountain. The snow was melting fast, and where I went under trees, it fell onto my car. Luckily, I experienced just small bits of snow landing on the roof. From the looks of things, it had been a rough storm up there. Broken tree limbs were pushed aside all along the road. All the pictures in this gallery were taken from my car window while stopped, in the road, waiting for the cars ahead to move along. It wasn’t quite the experience I’d hoped for, but it was an experience nonetheless! ~SueBee

What a pity that so many other people had the same idea as you. All the same, you got some good pictures.
Yes, it was a bit frustrating. Thank you, I was surprised when I put my pictures up on the computer and saw some good ones. That made me happy!
