Visiting a major quilt show for the first time, and one of the biggest in the country at that, was quite an experience. I joined my sister-in-law, Jeanne, at the Ontario Convention Center this past Saturday, for the Road 2 California Quilt Show. There were three huge rooms full with either vendors selling fabrics, quilt supplies, quilting and sewing machines, or with quilts on display. I’m not a quilter, but that didn’t matter. It was fascinating. Naturally, I bought fabric, because a person can never have too much fabric. Disclaimer: I use fabric in the journals I make. đŸ™‚
The pictures were taken with my iPhone… I took over 200 pictures, and expect to share quite a lot of those over the next few posts. Please excuse off-center angles on the pictures, but it was so crowded I wasn’t able to stand directly in front very often. I hope you’ll enjoy seeing the incredible talent of the quilt makers as much as I did. One bit of humor is the first picture…. since the quilt shows draws about 99% women, the convention center converted the men’s bathroom for our use!! Enjoy! ~SueBee
I’ve only been to one quilt show — in Houston — but I left with my jaw hurting from so many jaw-dropping experiences. I’m amazed at the work in these quilts — and the ones you have photographed are no exception. Thanks for sharing all of these.
The quilt makers have some major skills!
What a treat. I love quilt shows.
That’s wonderful. You’re in for quite a treat with my next several posts. I’d never seen anything like some of the quilts there… from around the world!
Looking forward to the posts.
