Today is a special day… it’s my first time sharing a guest picture! A fellow blogger who posts from Scotland (Tootlepedal) does so and I thought I’d follow suit. I’m therefore sharing a gorgeous picture of a night-blooming Epiphyllum (Cereus) taken by my brother, Glenn, in his backyard. He told me he held a flashlight between his knees as a light source.
Continuing on with my post, the gallery below shows more photos from my brief visit to Santa Barbara a week or two back. It was a beautiful day of pleasant temperatures, and I thoroughly enjoyed my drive up and back along the coast (once out of the Los Angeles freeway area). I reflect on it longingly while enduring our current heat wave of 108 degrees here in the city of Orange. I was curious yesterday afternoon and got into my car, which was parked in the shade of my carport. The car thermometer showed 116 degrees at nearly 4pm. It’s unbearable! I hope you’re all staying healthy and cool! ~SueBee
An excellent guest picture and some lovely shots from your recent trip. I couldn’t cope with that heat at all.
Thank you! Along with the heat we have several fires burning so the sky is orange-ish and smokey. I think the world’s coming to an end!
It seems a bit like it.
I love the beach photos, but oh, that night-blooming Cereus!!! How spectacular is that shot!
Thank you! I’ll pass your lovely compliment along to my brother! He’ll be tickled!!
