Late yesterday afternoon, I hopped in my car, intent on exploring a bit of the area. It wasn’t the best time of day, which I realized once I was out… seems it was quitting time for many folks, the roads were busy, people were in a hurry, and I had a hard time stopping to get pictures of the rural surroundings. But, since so many stores downtown close early, I headed there and was able to get lots of shots without cars in the way.
This gallery could be called Taste of Hutchinson, Kansas, as it features a bit of this and that. I find the old-time town to be fascinating; I love the history of it. I realize, like so many downtowns, that it fell into a huge decline once a large shopping mall opened on the other side of town some years back. That shopping mall has since met the same demise, which is a bright light to the downtown, now undergoing a resurgence. More pictures to come on my next trip out and about.
A few observations: I hear the train whistle blow more times a day/night than I can count, and I love that. There seems to be lots of art in public places that I want to check out. The wide open spaces, farmland, and rural setting are a dream after living in the concrete jungle for so long. It’s growing chillier by the day, the leaves are changing colors, my big trees are dropping their leaves, it’s clearly Autumn, and it’s wonderful. ~SueBee
I enjoyed scrolling through your gallery a lot.
Thank you. I’m glad you enjoyed it. I’m fascinated by my new hometown.
That’s lucky. It would be a pity if you found that you didn’t like it.
Absolutely love these! Brava, Susan!
Thank you my dear friend!!
