This seagull and I had quite the conversation during my recent visit to La Jolla near San Diego. He was insistent I tell him whether his left or right profile was more photogenic. Today’s Foto Fix is one I took yesterday while visiting the city of San Diego for some kayaking and sightseeing. This picture was taken from the Cabrillo National Monument on the tip of the Point Loma peninsula. Leave a coin, make a wish… today’s Foto Fix was taken at the Huntington Library and Gardens in San Marino, California. My previous visits, I never noticed the coins left at this statue. I’m not sure the history or reason, but hey, if we can wish upon a star, why not a stone mushroom!?! ~SueBee

With weather temps predicted in the hot range here in Southern California today, I felt a big of coolness would be welcome. This picture was taken at a favorite spot, the quaint town of Cambria on California’s central coast. ~SueBee

Taking an evening walk along the Seal Beach Pier yesterday, I stopped to watch this fisherman getting his line ready and noticed a boat speeding right toward us. It managed a nice sideways maneuver and unloaded a worker from the oil platform visible in the distance. ~SueBee

This large metal sculpture was a very bizarre scene to stumble across in Death Valley’s ghost town of Rhyolite. Therefore, a good choice for my occasional Daily Foto Fix category. ~SueBee
