Yup, that’s DTLA signage for you. I’m not sure if it’s an intended warning, cautionary note, or what, but there it is, brightly glaring down at drivers! Approach downtown Los Angeles from the 10, Grand exit, and see for yourself. Kat and I did exactly that this evening while returning home from a family birthday dinner. I decided some spontaneous nighttime pics of L.A. would be preferable to all the pretty red tail lights lined up in front of us. We didn’t have a tripod, nor much experience in night photography, but figured on gaining a bit. I recommend a visit – it’s a beautiful place, kinda eerie in some parts, lock your doors in others, fun to see new trendy cafes bustling with patrons in others. The gallery below is a sampling of pics from our tour, majority taken by Kat, many out the window as I drove. (Yeah, that’s a turbo lens on the camera, resulting in lots to choose from) Enjoy! ~SueBee
Oh, by the way, my favorite shots are those Kat captured at Angel’s Flight. Reminisce pics for sure!! My mom took my brother and me for rides often when we were little kids. I remember it well, and was lucky enough to ride a year or two ago after doing a walking tour with L.A. Conservancy (more on that in another post). If you plan on visiting soon, you might want to check if it’s running. Refer to this L.A. Times story for info.
