Looking for a place to satisfy your sweet tooth? Try 85 Degrees! This delicious bakery cafe specializes in Asian pastries, cakes, coffee, and teas. Their prices are super affordable, which is great because I always end up with a tray-full. An article on KPCC from early 2013 refers to them as the “Starbucks of Taiwan” because of their popularity overseas, but I think the comparison ends there. The atmosphere (workers calling out “fresh bread” each time they bring new trays to refill the case, and that’s often!), selection, and taste make 85 Degrees super unique.
85 Degrees currently has locations in Irvine, Hacienda Heights, Chino Hills, West Covina, and now in Newark, (San Francisco area) as well. Founded in Taiwan, they’ve franchised, and are growing fast. I highly recommend a visit. I guarantee you’ll join me and SueBee as fans! Check them out. Oh, and if you’re wondering about their name? According to their website, “Coffee holds it’s flavor best at a steady 85 degrees Celsius. To us, the name 85 Degrees symbolizes our devotion to providing coffee of the highest quality”. ~Kat (photos by Kat)
Wow, fantastic. I went there when I went to Taiwan. Good to know it’s in the US now. Thanks for sharing.
You’re welcome! They’re spreading fast it seems. Love their food! SueBee
