Until recently, I’ve seen snow twice in my life:
- While living in Germany for a couple years when I was too young to remember anything, it apparently snowed on my birthday one year!
- When I was like 4, while dropping my brother off for a school trip in the mountains somewhere.
Spending the vast majority of my life in the cities of Southern California where snow rarely exists, every Holiday season I’ve craved to visit the mountains to see snow! Well, I now finally have! This past January, Cam and I visited Mt. San Jacinto State Park specifically to see the snow. To get to the top requires a trip on the Aerial tram, which spins (very slowly…don’t worry, you won’t get dizzy or nauseous) providing an amazing 360 degree view of the surrounding mountains!
Once we got to the top, I was in snow heaven! At the beginning, the snow was dirtier and icier than I’d pictured, but as soon as we wandered away from the crowds, we found thick blankets of fluffy, white snow!
I’d never been more excited in my life, lol. I made a mini snowman, and Cam and I attempted to make snow angels (which is a heck of a lot harder than I thought it would be).
The forest looked absolutely gorgeous, and the view was stunning!
This was such a fun adventure! We are definitely going back again this winter! ~Kat (pics by Kat)
