Spontaneous idea in hand, I joined crowds of others yesterday, driving the narrow, winding road from Ferndell to the Griffith Park Observatory. I was stuck in the plodding line of cars, and could do nothing other than inch my way forward to the top. I honestly figured the city must be giving away solid gold souvenirs of the building, to draw such a crowd. Then, it dawned on me. The week between Christmas and New Years on a sunny, mostly clear, quintessential Southern California day… reason enough for tourists and locals alike! I didn’t spend but a minute inside; it was too crowded to see the exhibits, let alone take photos. But, outside was gorgeous for walking the trails and photographing the surrounding view. I can see why so many others also chose to visit! ~SueBee (photos by SueBee)
