My visit to Oak Glen, up the mountainside from Yucaipa in Southern California, this past Monday (a national holiday so I had the day off work), was prompted by a desire to see the area in springtime. I headed directly to my favorite place, the Wildland’s Conservancy nature trails at Los Rios Rancho. I shouldn’t have been surprised in seeing the water level so low in the little lakes, but I was, and it made me sad. It’s been blisteringly hot and we’ve had no rain. In spite of that, the hills were green, apple trees in bloom, wildflowers adding a splash of color… just beautiful. Much serenity is to be gathered in nature. ~SueBee (photos by SueBee)

Let’s sit on that bench in the shade! Beautiful
Honestly the most peaceful place… well, maybe without the rattler!
Very pretty for a drought.
Surprisingly green!
