My dear, sweet mom.
Born September 20, 1917, middle child with seven brothers bookending her.
Gazing through the window, gazing through time.
Lost in her memories. Where have the years gone?
The typewriter. So familiar…
Just like the one she used
at her job in downtown Los Angeles.
She rode the streetcar to get there.
And wonders where is the gentleman who left
a fragrant gardenia on her desk each morning.
Her reflection in a window, a reflection in time.
She turned to me and said
“I’m a relic, a living relic”.
And my camera captured this moment in time
while the image remains within. ~SueBee (photo by SueBee)
Through the window at Crystal Cove State Park Historic District in Orange County earlier this evening, after mom and I had dinner together, deciding a ride along the coast would be better than dessert. ~SueBee

Spectacular shot. Fits so well with this week’s challenge. Your mum sounds like a very strong relic, having been around for quite a bit and is still standing today. She sounds like a very nice person too. It looks like she’s happy, judging from her subtle reflection in the glass. I hope the both of you had a good time out together 🙂
Thank you for writing, Mabel. Mom’s got quite a story to tell, and thankfully, she’s still sharp enough that she continues to share it!! We did have fun that day. 🙂
How beautiful! Nicely done!
Thank you! 🙂
Your words are so touching! Lovely and loving!
Thanks so much for writing!

Oh she surely does!

Thank you! One if those that just presented itself at the right moment 🙂
