Pasadena’s Hangover

Each January 1st for the past 126 years, the city of Pasadena has hosted the Rose Parade down Colorado Boulevard. It’s obviously changed enormously and grown by leaps and bounds over the years, to become the spectacle it is these days. While I’ve been to the parade in person just twice over the years, I have watched it on TV many times. Last year I got my nerve up to fight the traffic and crowds and took pictures of the floats on display after the parade. This year I bypassed the parade altogether, choosing instead to check out the Route 66 exhibit at the Gene Autry Museum, and then wander around the Arboretum in Arcadia. On my route to Arcadia, I ventured past a bit of Colorado Boulevard and snapped these pictures. They were taken near the parade’s end and display much smaller piles of trash than can be seen up the road a ways where the main viewing stands are located. But, give Pasadena a day or two, and all will return to neat and tidy as always, just like a person’s hangover! ~SueBee

The penalty of other people having fun. You would think that if they could bring it, they could take it away but obviously not.
