If you want to check out city sights, avoid the usual throng of cars, I suggest you get out early on a Sunday morning. I spent the weekend visiting my son on the west side of Los Angeles; he lives in the Carthay Square area, near Fairfax and Olympic. I wanted to get a photo of the Googie-style Norm’s Coffee Shop I’d heard about on the radio. It was saved from the wrecking ball just this past week, pending historic and cultural designation. The pictures in this gallery of things that caught my eye, were all taken with my iPhone, most from the window of my little truck as I explored.
