During my recent overnight get-away along the coast near Carlsbad, I discovered a goldmine of a beach shop. The shop carried every possible beach decor one could imagine… and imagine I did! I’ve spent the majority of my free time in the past months redecorating the interior, and re-landscaping the exterior, of my home. It’s been an incredible amount of work, but to say it’s been a labor of love is an understatement.
My home, a small 1964 (vintage!) mobile home, had been purchased last year by my brother and me for my dear mom, who passed at the age of 98 this past March. We had a caregiver for her, but sadly, she was only able to enjoy her home for a few short months before going into a hospice setting. We contemplated selling the mobile home, but instead I chose to move in and keep it for myself. To make it my own, I worked with the vintage styling and turned it into my beach shack! I love it more than I can describe, and the sense of satisfaction from doing all the designing and manual labor myself, is priceless.
Walking through this beach shop was a treat, but alas, I only purchased one small plate. I’m happy to say my home is in need of nothing, as of one week ago, it’s done! The styling is not your standard surfer beach, but rather I chose for inspiration the rustic beach grasses, rocky shores, and atmosphere of California’s central coast… near one of my favorite places, Cambria. ~SueBee
You could furnish a palace let alone a trailer from that shop.
It was so crammed full I worried about knocking something over as I took pictures. Thankfully, I was using my phone camera and not the Nikon!
