(16 photos) During my recent visit to Nevada, my friends toured us through Death Valley, on to the ghost town of Rhyolite, the town of Beatty, and then to Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge. The refuge was absolutely fascinating. Crystal clear, turquoise water in the middle of the desert, with wee, tiny fish that flourish in those waters. Ash Meadows NWR, per their website, is home to some 27 endemic species; both plants and animals found nowhere else in the world. ~SueBee
