Kat and I took the train from the Orange depot to Union Station in downtown Los Angeles two days ago. We wanted to visit the Natural History Museum before her membership and guest passes expired. Getting to the Museum was quite an adventure, though. The train to L.A. was a simple straight shot, no problem. Figuring out the correct connection from there on a holiday week was a bit of a challenge. Adding to the confusion was the very friendly, helpful guy at the Information Booth who sent us way back to the other end of Union Station to catch a bus that wasn’t running this week. We then used our own scattered-brains and found what we hoped would be the correct escalator to the correct subway, bought our Tap cards (required), filled them with $$ using paper currency, received change in coins that seriously weighed down my backpack, determined which color line we needed, where to transfer, which exit to eventually take…. yes, it was a bit intimidating there for awhile. But, we had An Adventure!!
We wandered through the Museum, saw plenty of exhibits, then decided, being very experienced by this point, to take the subway back to the downtown area for lunch and some exploring there. What a day we had! One more set of photos coming tomorrow. ~SueBee
