During my recent visit to Anza Borrego Desert State Park, a group of us went wandering around the campground after dark, in search of scorpions. This was my first experience looking for something we generally prefer not to see! Armed with black light flashlights, we pointed them toward the brush… I admit to being extremely excited at spotting the first one. Then, replacing the black lights with regular light from our iPhones, the scorpions became nearly invisible. Fascinating, and creepy, but certainly an experience I will remember! I was glad to be camping in the back of my Subaru that night rather than in a tent, I can tell you that! ~SueBee
