Heading To The Salton Sea

For the route home from my weekend getaway at Borrego Springs a few weeks ago,  I chose to drive past the Salton Sea. I’d last been there with my parents many years ago and thought the drive would be interesting. It was! I left Borrego Springs on route S22, the Borrego Salton Seaway, and drove over a ridge and past the Badlands Viewpoint. I pulled over several times, both to the left and right of the road… fascinating, desolate land. I longed to follow one of the cutoffs, but it was clearly marked as 4-wheel drive vehicles only. As you’ll notice from my pictures, the area is a magnet for off-roaders. Watching the motorcycles and jeeps going up vertical hills was captivating! My next post will be of the area I explored at Salton Sea. ~SueBee

It just seems like there should be a movie team somewhere looking at these places for an upcoming film!

Dashing up vertical cliffs in a vehicle is not my idea of fun but it takes all sorts.

Not my idea either. Motorcycles were also doing it. Looked mighty risky to me.
