I ventured out for a walk yesterday, early morning, by driving to the downtown circle here in Orange. Since I don’t often leave my home or immediate neighborhood, I considered it an Adventure. I was interested in seeing the new outdoor dining set-up the city approved for restaurants. Since the Covid-19 pandemic, businesses have closed, opened, closed, partially opened, etc. Restaurants have gone from being entirely closed to offering just take-out, to socially distanced indoors seating, to that being eliminated, to just outdoor, to…. Honestly, I don’t go anywhere so it doesn’t impact me, but it sounds confusing. On top of that, the crazy situation happening with something so simple as wearing a face mask has added to the chaos. The rules are all intended to get us safely beyond the pandemic, but for some reason people are having problems with that. I don’t understand. Anyway, back to my walk. AsĀ you can see in the pictures, one street coming off the circle at the north and south has been closed to cars so restaurants can set their tables up outside. It looks really nice and I hope that works out for everyone, safely. I won’t be eating there, I only eat at home, but…. best wishes to the businesses. I really don’t want to see them all go bankrupt either. It’s a sad, very scary situation in our world right now. ~SueBee

Closing a street to make it available for outdoor eating seems like a very sensible idea.
I commend whoever came up with the idea.
