Yesterday brought a nice change of pace, and a break from our unbearable heat and unusual high humidity. My friends, Aranka and George, who reside in Pahrump, Nevada (close to Death Valley, which reported a record-breaking 130 degrees a few days ago!), are staying at a Big Bear Lake timeshare this week and invited me to socially distance visit for the day. It was about a two-hour drive, most of which was up the mountain. I enjoyed watching my car thermometer drop from 106 down to an eventual 77 as I gained elevation! ~SueBee
