Having a list of regional parks available to me using my new parking pass makes it a fun challenge to visit them all and compare notes with myself. Yes, I’ve previously been to a few of the parks, and yes, I could have gone at any time and simply paid the parking fee, but during the past eleven months of near-continual lockdown due to Covid, I’ve been trying to find new ways to amuse myself. Hence, my new challenge!
Peters Canyon has several trails around a central lake that’s not accessible. The trail I took is shared by mountain bikes, horses, and walkers. Luckily there weren’t too many bikes going by and the ones who did were quite polite. I didn’t see any live horses, just a few shoe prints stamped in dry mud. I didn’t feel I was risking my life being on foot; I’ve been on some trails like that and they’re scary. All told, I’m glad I visited Peters Canyon while it was cool. In summer, early morning or late evening would be the only comfortable times, in my view. For future, there are other parks much more attractive to me and I most likely won’t return to this one often. ~SueBee
I am glad that you weren’t run over or knocked down. The ‘big sky’ was fun.
Thank you. Me, too!
