Per an article I found online on Yelp, “Philanthropist Dennis Avery (Avery labels) commissioned metal sculpture artist Ricardo Breceda to design and construct metal sculptures in scattered property Avery owned in Borrego Valley. He bought the land to keep it from being developed and give access to the sculptures to the greater community, which he called Galleta Meadows.The sculptures were built between 2008 and 2012.”
