As my friends and I journeyed from Utah to Arizona on Route 89A, we drove through part of the Navajo Nation. The landscape was beautiful, but it was a hot day and we had lots of miles to cover so we didn’t linger long. Our only stops were at a group of roadside vendors selling handmade jewelry (I resisted purchase as I have enough jewelry to last a few lifetimes), and at the Navajo Bridge. The Colorado River passing in the gorge beneath the bridge was incredibly green, like a jewel. ~SueBee
