Spring is in the air here in central Kansas… well, maybe it was a few days ago! Today was overcast, somewhat chilly and it rained a bit (not enough). We can do with more rain, no doubt. My vast front lawn has been greening up over the past few weeks. As I gazed out over it yesterday, thinking about when it would need to be mowed, I spotted a dot of purple. Wandering over, I found this adorable grape hyacinth flower in the middle of the lawn. It immediately brought me back to my childhood, and mom’s garden. She planted lots of them in various flower beds, and I just loved seeing them pop up each year. I carefully dug it up and relocated to a spot in the backyard where it wouldn’t be at risk of the future lawn mowing! It makes me smile. ~SueBee
