I don’t go out exploring as much as I did while living back in California. I’ve instead been spending every daylight hour on projects in my huge yard. It’s been so much fun! I’ve been turning a very plain half acre into my own paradise, particularly in the back yard. I’ll try to bring my blog up to date over the coming weeks with pictures of previous projects, but for now, I’ll show you what I’ve spent the past few days doing…. converting a dilapidated old garden shed into my very own rustic-style beach shack.
I got the old corrugated tin used to cover the shed exterior, and the barn wood used for the front porch at no cost from a friend living about fifty miles away. The pallets used for the bar were also free, from a local lumber yard. I don’t own much in the way of tools, so used my battery-operated drill and a hand saw to cut all the plywood and support beams. I framed off support for the new opening using old wood that was left in the shed. I must have done it sufficiently as the thing hasn’t yet collapsed. I intend to paint the inside, and add a beach-themed mural, plus a few more ideas for the cement pad on the left. By the way, I’ve owned the surf board for years… having used it as decor in my yard back in California. Surfs Up! ~SueBee
Below pictures: before shots of shed, showing extensive old-age damage to exterior plywood. The shed doors face the back of my property. In the final two pictures, you can also see the vegetable garden I made just prior to starting on the shed project.

Very enterprising,
Thank you. The physical activity feels good.
