We boarded the ship and departed Seattle!

Our first day was at sea, covering quite a distance as we headed north. We spent the day exploring the ship, as well as eating and drinking. When all food and beverages are included, and prepared for you, life is so simple!

Once docked, we each set off on our own to explore Juneau. We hadn’t purchased excursions, preferring to wander about without being in a group. After noticing the long line for the tram going up the mountain, I’m glad we hadn’t bought tickets. I thoroughly enjoyed myself as I checked out the local scene. Apparently we lucked out with the weather as there was a horrible storm the day before, with tons of rain and power knocked out for hours.

After enduring an endless HOT summer back home in Kansas, I enjoyed every single minute of the cool, damp weather. After wandering about for hours, it was time to board the ship and head to our next port at Icy Strait Point. Our original itinerary included a visit to Skagway, but the dock was damaged and Icy Strait was substituted. ~SueBee

You look very cheerful and I can quite see why. A great trip.
A lifetime dream trip that I never thought I’d make!
