Eclectic Hollywood

Nikon D5100s in tow, the streets of Hollywood beckon often – subject matter for a camera buff is literally without end. If you’re up for some real fun, though, you have to check out Nick Metropolis. As Nick’s website says:

“Nick Metropolis has been buying, selling, renting and consigning collectible furniture, or “collectable” as Nick likes to say….for over 20 years. Anyone who has ever looked for something wild and wacky for their apartment, home, business or studio has probably come here at one point or another and had fun doing so. The corner at 1st and La Brea has become a special crossroads to many here in Hollywood seeking their fame and fortune… Chances are when you left Nick’s place you not only found a great and unique collectable item but you also found a new friend. On any given day you can run into an incredible cast of characters from a celebrity that you have just seen on the big screen, reality TV show or read about in a magazine… to even someone who is homeless and down and out… including stray dogs. Nick has helped them all ! Nick’s motto: “Love is all there is.”

Gallery below spotlights some shots from a recent drive through one of my favorite quirky lands. Loving the cultural diversity, fashions (or not), shops, signage, buildings, old stuff, junk… As they say, variety is the spice of life! ~SueBee
