So, while the westside of Los Angeles is famous most everywhere, if not the world, for just about everything — from fashionistas flocking, stars clamoring for attention, moguls moguling, interior designers a la extraordinaire shopping, eateries indulging, luxury automobiles parading, paparazzi hovering — the OC is also famous, and for far more than its Laguna Beach arts colony, pristine beaches and fodder for TV’s prime time soaps. You may be surprised to know Orange County, in spite of being a southerly cousin to L.A., has a hub for interior designers and those who love shops full of creativity and unique homegoods, too. As with most everything Kat and I come across, SoCo Collection was another stumbled-upon type of find, discovered by a glance off the freeway and an over-abundance of curiousity on my part. SoCo Mart is a great place for shopping and dining, with a weekly Farmer’s Market tossed in for good measure. While we haven’t been for fresh produce yet, we have enjoyed wandering through the shops, restaurants, and an incredible, gigantic cook’s paradise in Surfas Culinary District. I recommend you make the short or long trek to 3303 Hyland Ave in Costa Mesa and check it out. Below are some teaser pictures to give you an idea of the ambiance. ~SueBee
