The area near the pier is dressed in its finest as the early morning sun breaks through the mist. In the gallery below are a few more photos from my visit to Santa Monica Beach this past Sunday. The photo of Camera Obscura now has me curious, and prompts a return visit, as it was closed for refurbishing.
The somber scene in these two pictures is of what’s known as Arlington West, with a worker preparing the sand for the day’s visitors.
This closes my three-part series of Santa Monica Beach waking up! If you missed them, part one and part two and a Foto Fix, are linked here. ~SueBee (photos by SueBee)
Everything is so colorful out there… 🙂 nice images.
Yes it is! Thank you!
Camera Obscuras are great fun and well worth a visit. If it is like the ones I have been to in Dumfries and Edinburgh, you will think for a moment that you are watching a picture postcard and then you will realise that things are moving in the picture. It is quite eerie at first.
How cool! Look forward to their opening up again. ~SueBee
I’m looking forward to it re opening!
Good angle and composition in particular for #19.
Thanks, Jeff!
I love Santa Monica!
It’s a fun place!
love these photos, they really capture the spirit of santa monica. One of my brothers used to live there and I was able to visit several times. I loved it. Out of all of LA, I would take Santa Monica or Malibu in a heartbeat. Great photos thanks for sharing.
