Who knew? Not me! Knew what, you ask? That a society exists for mushrooms! I’d never even heard the word mycology (the study of mushrooms and fungi) in my life. A recent visit to the L.A. County Arboretum, though, coincided with an exhibition sponsored by the Los Angeles Mycological Society. I arrived late in the day, end of the weekend, so missed what was certainly a very interesting show. It appeared as though a cooking demonstration had also been part of the weekend’s festivities. As you’ll notice in the gallery of photos below, the group members are very active in their field. ~SueBee (photos by SueBee) (note: sorry to be absent the past few days from the blogging world… we were busy packing and moving to a new home a few towns away)
