Cargo shipping out to sea… and I wonder what’s in those containers, and where they’ll end up. Some years ago, my family and I packed up all our household belongings into a container just like one of these, and watched the truck pick it up and drive away. We hoped that six weeks later our things would be delivered to us at our new home in a little village outside of Bremen, Germany. It was a really odd feeling imagining everything we owned rising and falling with each wave. I hoped I’d packed carefully enough, and that no storm would sink the ship! Thankfully, everything made it over, and a few years later, back, just fine.
Today’s Foto Fix was taken at the port in San Pedro. I love all the colors of the containers. ~SueBee (photo by SueBee)
Nervous work, especially if yours was one of those perched right on top.
So true. I read recently about a container ship going down in a huge storm somewhere off coast of Europe, and it made me remember how nervous I was at the time!
